Pastor Tamara Morton
Pastor Tamara Morton was born in Virginia Beach, Va.; she is the wife of Pastor Jay Morton and they have one son name Jayvon Lee Morton. She also have two blessed step-children name Jaylen Eli Morton and Junious Lee Morton, III of Connecticut. She is the daughter of Bishop Sidney and Pastor Barbara Davis, and she has one brother, Gerald Davis of New Jersey.
Pastor Morton graduated from Norfolk State University with a Bachelors Degree in General Business/Entrepreneurial Studies, and from Regent University with a Master of Arts Degree in Practical Theology. She previously was a real estate paralegal for 10 years with the City of Virginia Beach City Attorney’s Office. Also she is a Certified Life Coach and currently pursuing her doctorate degree in Strategic Leadership from Regent University. Pastor Morton came to Christ at a young age at the Big Piney Grove Baptist Church in Va. Beach, under the late Bishop Charles A. Vinson where she gained her training and teaching. She is now a member of St. James Missionary Church of Va. Beach where she stands with her father, Bishop Sidney Davis in ministry to make a difference in the new millennium. She was licensed to preach the gospel on her birthday, September 24, 2004, and was ordained on June 12, 2010 by the Sharon Missionary Baptist Association.
She has been involved in several organizations in the community and church including Vice-president of the Tidewater Youth Missionaries and Vice-president of the Va. Beach Youth Council of the NAACP. Currently she is the Executive Pastor and oversees the Christian Education, Discipleship, Mentorship, Drama and Praise Dance ministry, however, the most important thing to know about Pastor Morton is that she loves the Lord, and has a holistic approach in ministry by reaching others for Christ to meet their spiritual, physical, and mental needs. Her favorite scripture is Psalm 27. For truly the Lord is her Light and her Salvation.
